so my first weekend in florence was utterly mindblowing. i still cannot believe im here every morning when i wake up- the duomo is my front yard! double takes are aplenty.

pre-departure jitters

oh, hey. i thought maybe i'd throw one post in before i left to see how this whole blogging thing would work for me. so lets get started then!
im leaving for florence in t minus 11 days. uh oh. every so often i feel a bit nervous- but only for a split second. this whole situation has yet to feel real. i sort of feel suspended in time, like whats about to happen isnt really about to happen. weird feeling, i'd say.
ok! so my plan with this blog is to update those who care about me on my travels and such in real time. it seems like a practical thing to do because everyone will get to see the progression of my dive into the italian culture/lifestyle. ill put up pictures of my travels as often as i can so i dont have to spend hours on end showing a jillion and four pictures to everyone when i get back. itll be like you guys are traveling with me!
also, im going to give this link to the abroad offices at marymount so hopefully i can help out future student travelers- your advisors can only prepare you so much, i think that to hear about the experiences from someone who is dealing with them right that very moment is super helpful. i may feel generous and throw in a video or two :)
